From initial enquiry to treatment

If you are wondering if you could benefit from CBT with me, please contact me:

First of all, I would like to invite you to have a brief initial phone call with me (up to 20 minutes) so you could tell me a little about your current difficulties that you would like to seek therapy for. This is free of charge. I will give you some information on how CBT works, and if we both agree that CBT would be beneficial for you to improve your wellbeing, we can then set up an appointment for your initial assessment. If I feel that another type of therapy or support would be more appropriate for you at this stage, I will do my best to point you to the right direction.

The first therapy appointment following the informal discussion is a CBT assessment. I will send you a link for a registration form for this. This session lasts for up to 60 minutes, and the main purpose of the session is to explore your current difficulties of depression and/or anxiety and the impact on different aspects of your life. I would also like to ask you about any relevant historical information and your goals and expectations for the therapy.

The number of subsequent treatment sessions would depend on the nature of the difficulty, but typically it ranges from 6 to 20. We can discuss and agree on how many sessions we would be likely to need to help you achieve your therapy goals. Each session lasts up to 60 minutes unless a longer session has been agreed with you in advance for a specific purpose.  It is advisable to have weekly sessions especially at the start of your treatment, but there is flexibility.

The current fee for a standard 60-minute session is £80. I am able to offer both face-to-face sessions in Twickenham, and also remote sessions by phone or video.

Insurance: I am recognised by BUPA.

I am part of The Practice Room community.

Please find the therapy contract here for more detailed information. This is something that I would like to ask you to go through and agree before you start treatment with me. If you have any questions about this, please let me know.
